Robbie Williams is bringing an entourage to New Zealand. The global pop icon has announced the special guests for his BRITPOP Australia and New Zealand stadium tour this November — and the New Zealand dates come with a strong local flavour. Wellington-formed pop-R&B outfit Drax Project will support Robbie at both New Zealand shows, while UK indie-pop band Lottery Winners warm up every date on the tour.
The announcement, made ahead of tickets going on sale, confirms what the tour's promoters Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring are billing as some of Robbie's biggest-ever shows down under. The BRITPOP tour — named for his latest studio album — opens at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 7 November, then moves through Melbourne's Marvel Stadium (11 November), Sydney's Accor Stadium (14 November), Newcastle's McDonald Jones Stadium (17 November) and Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium (20 November) before crossing the Tasman.
THE NEW ZEALAND DATES
Auckland's Eden Park hosts the tour on Tuesday 24 November, with Drax Project and Lottery Winners on the bill. Then comes the historic one: on Saturday 28 November, Robbie plays Christchurch's One New Zealand Stadium — his first show in the city in 25 years, and he will be the first international artist to perform at the city's new stadium. For Christchurch, a city whose live-music landscape was reshaped by the 2011 earthquakes, that first-international-act billing carries real weight.
Drax Project are a canny pick for the New Zealand leg. The four-piece have amassed more than half a billion global streams and 35 platinum certifications, making them one of the most internationally successful groups to come out of New Zealand in recent years. Lottery Winners, meanwhile, arrive with a chart-topping domestic following in the UK and a history of supporting Robbie on his European tour — a tried-and-tested opening act for the ultimate showman.
G FLIP FLIES THE AUSSIE FLAG
On the Australian dates, the special-guest slot goes to G Flip — the multi-talented drummer, singer, songwriter and producer who has become one of Australia's most compelling live performers over the past five years. Lottery Winners join them on all Australian dates as well, making the tour's opening bill a genuinely curated mix of local and international talent.
The BRITPOP tour follows Robbie's XXV Tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2023, a run of shows that drew huge crowds. This time the production is bigger, the venues are bigger — stadiums across the board — and the setlist is expected to lean on the new album alongside the anthems: 'Angels,' 'Feel,' 'Better Man,' 'Love My Life' and 'Let Me Entertain You' all featured on the last visit, and Auckland will be ready to sing every word.
